Drool-worthy Meditation Spaces

Drool-worthy Meditation Spaces

We are all looking for a piece of peace, but sometimes it’s hard to find! Between work, family, friends, finances, fitness, and social obligations – it can seem impossible to carve out any more time to take care of yourself.

But, it is possible. I promise!

Even if you aim to start with 1-2 minutes a day, creating some focused time for inward reflection and calm is super beneficial to your overall wellbeing

If you’re interested in becoming more mindful, creating more stillness or developing a meditation practice, creating a dedicated space in your home is a good idea. Not only does it ensure you have a physical space to sit in, but creating your own “zen-sational” zone can entice to you keep up your practice even when you may not feel like it!

To help inspire you, I’ve curated some of my favourite images of seriously drool-worthy meditation spaces from around the world. Feast your eyes on these gorgeous sanctuaries and learn the basics of setting up your own!

Find a quiet spot

You don’t need an entire room – a corner will do. You could even take your practice outdoors to your backyard or garden.

Add cushions and pillows

They’ll create a sense of softness and make your meditation more comfortable. You can even meditate in your favourite chair or bed!

Build an altar

It will provide inspiration and focus. Focus is what helps free your mind from distractions that cause stress and worry. You can focus your attention on your altar, a mantra, and/or your breathing. Decorate with candles, flowers, mala beads, and anything that has meaning to you and your practice. Add items that nourish your 5 senses:
  • Smell: incense & essential oils
  • Sound: singing bowls & chimes
  • Sight: lights, candles, statues, crystals & plants
  • Touch: mala beads, feathers, cushions & throws
  • Taste: your favourite herbal tea!

There are so many reasons to start your own meditation practice – it helps reduce stress & anxiety, boosts attention & clarity of thinking, and improves sleep quality, to name a few! The best part though, is even if you don’t have our own “mediation station” at home, you can meditate anywhere! All you need is a comfy spot and you!
